(Hello! My name is Naoki Umeda. I’m from Osaka, Japan. At the university I studied German and English, so I can speak German a little. Because I have never been to Germany yet, please tell me your favorite places in Germany.)
This June, I will take the 2nd-grade German test. Since I haven’t used German for almost a year, I have to start reviewing it right now! I hope to communicate with you in English and German someday.

The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up continues to “spark joy” for publishers and readers and has ranked on bestseller lists one after another throughout the world!

Soon after the French version of the worldwide bestseller The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up was released on February 26th by First, the French publisher, it ranked 5th at its highest point on the bestseller list of Amazon.fr. Timed to coincide with this success, its translated versions ranked on top-seller lists in three other countries in succession: 1st in both Amazon in the U.S. and Amazon in Italy, and 10th in Amazon in Canada. Consequently, it ranked in the top 10 in four countries at the same time!

Sales of three translated titles from Sunmark are now very brisk in Japan!

Starting with the Japanese version of E-Squared by Pam Grout having become a bestseller in Japan, a total of three translated titles have been selling very well. The first one, E-Squared as mentioned above, has now sold more than 240,000 copies and its sequel, E-Cubed, has reached sales of 85,000 copies in less than just 3 months from its release. The third one, Beyond the Power of Your Subconscious Mind by C. James Jensen, also succeeded in increasing its sales to more than 45,000 copies in just a month!

238 pages / February 2015 / 1,300 yen (w/o tax)

This book is for those who struggle to change their bodies.

Description

From the author with numerous titles to his credit — including If You Build Up Your Lower Body, You Won’t Gain Weight or Get Tired (Daiwashobo), the hit that’s sold over 200,000 copies — based on the experience of assisting a host of celebrity athletes to sculpt their bodies comes a book packed with sure-fire methods for weight loss through running.

The three main steps to burning body fat are:
1. Taking that first step
2. Making a habit of exercising
3. Establishing your motivation for losing weight

Along with clear explanations of these three steps, this book is also full of information useful to anyone who has thought about taking up running, quit running due to injury or a loss of motivation, or anyone who hasn’t been successful in losing weight through previous experiences with running.

This book includes widely known elements such as the activation and sustainment of your drive — the essence of losing weight — and if you can successfully incorporate these elements into your life, you may be able to finally say goodbye to that excess body fat!

Chapter 3 A boost for more efficient weight loss (body development)
Chapter 4 A boost for more efficient weight loss (diet)
Chapter 5 If running becomes too difficult
Appendix The best training and stretching exercises for weight loss

From the editor

Only one in four people are said to be able to successfully incorporate running into their lives for more than a year. Actually, I was also one of the three who couldn’t maintain a running routine. I quickly lost interest, especially as my knees and back began to get sore and feel uncomfortable. However, since I became involved in this project, I’ve managed to maintain a light running regimen for half a year now. Along with giving insights from trainers and experienced runners, this book also answers any questions beginning runners or those who wish to go on a diet might have. The author tackles these issues, offering useful information in a clear and structured manner that increasingly fuels your motivation as you read. After running only a handful of times, I noticed improvement in my cardio-pulmonary function and my legs had started to firm up. This is one book I wholeheartedly recommend to those considering taking up running, or those who’ve run in the past with little or no success in terms of sustained weight loss.

The Earth Is the Planet of Actions, Nothing Will Happen Until You Make a Move

by Hitori Saito

ISBN978-4-7631-3422-6

160 pages / January 2015 / 1,600 yen (w/o tax)

A message that could be delivered only by Hitori Saito, whose constant activity has generated constant results

Description

Hitori Saito experiences either success or tremendous success. “Action” is the word at the core of his life of success.

– Dreams are just that: unattainable
– I can’t continue what I’ve started
– I lack confidence
– I’m too afraid of failure

Are you getting in your own way by making excuses and overthinking?

Hitori Saito’s latest offering is an easy-to-read book with useful diagrams and clearly written conclusions accompanying every chapter. Once you’ve finished the book, you’ll be convinced that you too can achieve success in the way the author has. Read Hitori Saito’s exquisitely worded teachings on successfully striking a delicate balance between thought and action.

An excerpt from the book:
“This earth is not a planet where everything we wish for magically comes true. We can only know if our thoughts and desires are true after trial and error — if things go well, we know we are on the right path; if things don’t go as we thought, we know we’ve taken a wrong turn. We can start by learning from others, and also by studying, but we have to act as well. As we move, we must choose the path we feel is best. On this planet, in order to find happiness, pleasure and success, we must get out and look for them”.

From the editor

The most important thing I’ve learned from one of Japan’s wealthiest men, Hitori Saito, is the importance of taking action — how to convert your thoughts into action. He clearly understands that little things can end up making all the difference, and has successfully judged when to approach situations with greater care, and when he could take a bolder stance. This is why he won’t settle for anything but success. Failure is not an option. He understands that there is something to be learned every time we convert our thoughts to action, and that it can only lead to success. I hope this is the first book you’ll read in 2015 — it is a very powerful book penned by a man who simply refuses to stop. It would be wonderful if more people were able to achieve success and satisfaction in their lives.

Hitori Saito

The founder of Ginza Marukan, Hitori Saito is one of Japan’s most highly taxed businessmen. Over a 12-year period beginning in 1993, Saito established a new Japan record by finishing in the nation’s top 10 in terms of personal income tax assessment. In an environment where the highest taxes are assessed on sales of land and stock offerings, Saito is notable, as the taxes he’s paid have all been assessed on business income. Furthermore, he has published numerous pieces of literature dealing with the compatibility of economic fortune and emotional happiness. His main works include Minute Differences in Strength, The Power of Insight, A Society Built by Strange People, People and Money (Sunmark), In Top Condition, The Road to Happiness, Earth Can Become a Paradise (KK Longsellers), A Method for Success Written by Strange People (Sogo Horei Publishing), and A Thousand Years Can Pass (Makino Shuppan).
