We will visit Taipei during the 4th week of May

201605pho

Two Sunmark staff members are scheduled to visit Taipei from

May 22nd to 28th. During our stay, we’ll meet agents and publishers in Taiwan in order to get updates on their market and to introduce our titles to them. Visiting local bookstores is one of the most exciting activities for us in Taiwan. There are numbers of unique bookstores and book cafes in Taipei. As a part of the Asian publishing community, we’re trying to visit major cities in East Asia at least once a year to stay in touch with the local publishers and exchange information. We love these trips!

Topic of the Month

Two of our FICTION books are selling very well. Before the Coffee Gets Cold is now up to 100,000 copies, and Seven Teachings That Could Make a Cowardly Boy Brave is up to 60,000 copies so far.

We’re widely known for our non-fiction books, and it’s pretty unusual for us to publish fiction titles; but we published two works of fiction last December and both have been very successful. Before the Coffee Gets Cold has made it to 100,000 copies, and Seven Teachings That Could Make a Cowardly Boy Brave has 60,000 copies in print respectively. We’re grateful to our local bookstores, who are very cooperative in selling these titles, so we’ve made promotional videos so the bookstores can use them in unique displays.

The surprising method that resolved 3,500 people’s financial worries is finally published in a book!

Description

Your wallet is filled with wrinkled receipts and cards. You have multiple bankbooks floating around. Things are going to waste in the fridge, and balancing your accounts is troublesome. If this describes you, we have some good news. This book will teach you a simple way to get things in order so you can start saving. Those around the country who’ve used author Ai Ichii’s methods have happily declared:

“I can now save 30,000 yen a month.”

“I spend 180,000 yen less on annual food expenses.”

“I was able to lower my housing loan by 8,000,000 yen.”

The secret is to organize the “paths” your money uses: the wallet, the bankbook and the refrigerator. It’s not that you don’t have any money, it just isn’t properly organized. So, how do you get things in order? A popular financial consultant reveals in this book a way to dramatically change your life and financial situation.

The following passage is from the prologue:

“Your money takes different paths. It goes in and out of your wallet and bank account. Your refrigerator is a path for food expenses, and the plan written in your planner is a path for travel and entertainment expenses.”

“Just like a disorganized room creates a disorganized mind, if the paths your money takes are disorganized, your financial situation will also become scattered.”

“The important thing is to keep it simple and get these paths in order. This book deals with the dramatic changes that will take place in your life financially once you get things in order.”

We usually put money in our wallet with the smaller bills at the front, but author Ai Ichii says we should do the opposite. She says to put the biggest bills in the front. Try doing this, and you will begin to understand the value of your money without carelessly spending the smaller bills. This will miraculously change the way you spend and save money. Just trying one or two of the many methods presented in this book will bring surprising changes. This book presents a new concept about organizing the “paths” your money takes to help you save more money. Give it a try!

Ai Ichii

Ai Ichii is a financial consultant born in Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan, in 1976. At the age of 31, after suffering from stress related to work and raising a child, she was diagnosed with Meniere’s disease. On top of that, her husband’s company went bankrupt due to the economic downturn precipitated by the Lehman Brothers bankruptcy in 2008. This chain of unfortunate events forced Ichii to experience a fearful period of having to care for two children while both she and her husband were unemployed, with insufficient funds. She then came to realize after getting the “paths” her money took in order that unimportant monthly expenses began to naturally decrease, and money became easier to save. After customizing her methods to suit her needs, she began sharing them with others and soon grew in fame for helping many people save money and eliminate their worries. This experience allowed her to start working as an advisor and financial consultant for start-up businesses and housewives. Her methods have now helped over 3,500 women. She is now the representative director of Mother Me Co., a company whose philosophy is “Creating a world where dreams can come true even while doing housework, nursing and raising children.” Ai Ichii also lectures and holds many seminars.

Are you ready to ride on the back of a dragon?
Here is a guide to a wonderful existence filled with happiness.

Description

This is the first book of its kind in Japan that gives you all the spiritual information about the power of “dragons.” Your life will improve exponentially if you’re able to acquire a sacred relationship with, and knowledge of, dragons. Dragons are beings that represent personal development and life support. People who live their lives for the betterment of themselves and the world around them and who are able to form a strong spiritual relationship with dragons are called “dragon whisperers.” Your greatest desires will quickly begin to materialize if you “ride on the back of a dragon.” Things that you could normally only consider miraculous will occur with great frequency. This book will teach you how to make that a reality. We live in a “time of the dragons,” when a profound spiritual connection to them can help us cope with our quickly changing world. This book clearly explains exactly what a dragon is all about and how to get one on your side, and it introduces the main power-spots around Japan where you can communicate with the spiritual force of dragons. The dragons are ready for you to ride with them!

From the editor

After working on Summoning the Fairies by Ami Himenomiya, I planned for some books about “unseeable beings.” One of those books was about dragons. Three years ago, I realized after doing some research that there weren’t many books about dragons and spirituality, so I decided to create one. This led me to author Hikari Osugi, who has extensive knowledge on the subject. This book has all you need to know about dragons–spiritual beings that Japanese people have had a close connection with for many generations. After much modification, we were able to make illustrations of dragons for the cover and to go along with the text that suited the subject matter of the book. We hope you enjoy both the pictures and the information itself.

Hikari Osugi is the CEO of Atea Co. When she was a child, she had the ability to sense the presence of dragons and fairies and was able to sense what others were thinking. These abilities became dormant, but they didn’t go away. Over 30 years later, after becoming a mother, her childhood experiences and intuition came back to her. This led her to develop the methods, based on her knowledge of history, religion, psychology, literature, business management and spirituality, that allowed her to start a company. The company’s Kami-tabi (Trip to the gods) tour, the first of its kind in Japan, allows people to visit various shrines around the country. The tour has a 96.5% repeat customer rate. She also provides a service connecting clients with a shrine that best suits them personally, providing readings about their guardian deity, and giving related lectures and becoming a “dragon whisperer.” Since 2013, she’s been providing spiritual consulting for businesses dealing with the importance of having a healthy connection with the gods.
