When you're happy, I'm happy too.
A teacher at a special education school gives a heartfelt account of what really matters.

Description

Why does everything in nature work so well? Why are there things that cause us happiness and sadness? Why do I feel it when other people are in pain…? When she was a child, author Katsuko Yamamoto earned the nickname “Little Miss Why” because she was always asking why. In this book, she talks about what she has learned from children in her 25 years of teaching, and the sadness and strength of people in history. She uses the story of Shunya Miyata, a personal friend who recovered miraculously after a stroke, to point out the infinite possibilities that human beings possess. Through day-to-day events such as this, the author shares “cosmological wisdom” in simple essays that are easy to read.
