Why does everything in nature work so well? Why are there things that cause us happiness and sadness? Why do I feel it when other people are in pain...? When she was a child, author Katsuko Yamamoto earned the nickname "Little Miss Why" because she was always asking why. In this book, she talks about what she has learned from children in her 25 years of teaching, and the sadness and strength of people in history. She uses the story of Shunya Miyata, a personal friend who recovered miraculously after a stroke, to point out the infinite possibilities that human beings possess. Through day-to-day events such as this, the author shares "cosmological wisdom" in simple essays that are easy to read.
From the Table of Contents:
Chapter 1 When you're in pain, I feel it too
Chapter 2 Open the eyes and ears of your heart
Chapter 3 We're actually all happy
Chapter 4 I'm happy because I have you
Chapter 5 Kindness is strength
From the editor:
Ms. Katsuko Yamamoto is fondly referred to as Kakko-chan by the many people who love her. Her kindness is so genuine that she is warm to everybody she meets. The title of this book carries the feelings that I always have when I meet Kakko-chan. I hope that everyone who reads the book will feel her warm presence embrace them as they are.
